Yvonne Bauche was born and raised in Boston, Lincolnshire, England and although she enjoyed art classes in school never considered herself to have any artistic talent. In her mid-twenties she started learning the art of cake decorating and how to use sugar gum paste to create realistic sugar flowers to decorate her increasingly popular cakes.
After a divorce, a lot of travelling and a new man in her life she found herself in Canada and once again in demand for fancy cakes. However, after a few years it was time to move onto other things. Surprisingly enough none of the other things had anything to do with art, with the exception of a little photography here and there.
Almost thirty years rolled by, before (thanks to the Covid Pandemic) she found herself with time on her hands and looking for something to do. Digging through some online courses she came across a tutorial on how to paint a watercolour Rose. Thinking why not give it a try, she picked up a brush for the first time since school and set to work.
She loved the creative process and received many compliments on the result. She was hooked and immersed herself in the wonderful world of watercolour.
Yvonne still considers herself to be very much a beginner and continues to soak in as much as she can learn. She is a member of the Anna Mason online school and has done some of Kateri Ewing’s tutorial courses as well.
Since December 2020 she has learnt a lot and spent a small fortune on better materials. She has also produced an abundance of work, some good, some bad, some just downright goofy and fun. Therein lays a challenge. Typically Yvonne and her husband Michael are full time travellers, and only have limited storage space. Paint, brushes and pads will now travel with them but not the already completed pieces, which is why they are being offered for sale.
All pieces are unframed and can be shipped in unbendable packaging, please contact us if you have interest in any of the pieces for yourself or a friend.
